Meals
We provide hot and healthy meals for our students, including breakfast, lunch, and snacks. We will provide our weekly menu through email.
The chef will prepare every meal in the church kitchen and deliver them to the classroom on time. We offer all food and disposable utensils for each child. Parents are required to fill out and update allergy forms when they enroll in the program.
Languages
English:
We help improve our student's English skills during morning circle time to prepare them for elementary school.
Mandarin:
During our afternoon circle time, we develop our student's Mandarin skills. Chinese is one of the most spoken languages in the world and is also a great brain exercise, which we think make learning the language important for children to learn. In addition to learning the language, we will explore Chinese culture, festivities, food, music, art, traditions, martial arts, and more.
Our teachers will speak both languages to the students so they will be able to learn both languages.
Our Mission
Our mission is to have our students become confident, independent learner who:
Learn by doing and experimenting with ideas
Benefit from countless opportunities through discovery, creativity, and problem- solving, thereby developing inquisitive minds
Nurture social connections and behavior
Encourages their sense of self-worth
Our Philosophy
Early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploration, and discovery. We truly believe that an early childhood education program should consist of positive and purposeful strategies designed to help children meet their individual goals. Our children will experience the joys and rewards of active, hands-on learning through activities both developmentally and individually appropriate. Our children will also learn and refine social skills and grow as unique individuals in a respectful environment while learning practical life skills and becoming self-confident, responsible, and independent.
Health and Safety
Including changes made due to Covid-19
Due to the ongoing pandemic, health, safety, and wellbeing is our top priority. We are following the guidelines of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), public health officials of the state of California, and the county of San Mateo. We ask our parents to support, understand and follow our protocol.
Daily health screening and temperature checks are required for all adults and children in the center.
Adults and children will always wear face masks except while eating and drinking.
Families dropping off and picking up are limited to the front door.
During nap time, teachers will orient children’s cots head to toe, so that their heads are at least 6 feet apart.
Children and teachers must frequently wash hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer.
The teachers will clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
If your child has any of the following symptoms: fever, chills, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, headache, nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea, we will contact you to pick up your child immediately. Your child must stay home until symptoms are no longer showing.
If a child or staff tests positive for Covid-19, they will need to quarantine at home for 14 days.
Due to Covid-19, field trips will not be taking place until it is declared completely safe.
