Job Description
Preschool Director Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operation of the center Ensure that the property is well-maintained
In charge of hiring, training, and supervising staff
Enrollment of new children
Establish the center’s policy, program, and budget.
Communication with CCL
Manage financial transactions and prepare budgets
Maintain the center website and social media
Schedule ongoing training of teachers
Oversee the planning and preparation of meals for the children
Preschool Director Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
AA Degree in child development, 3-semester units Administration, 2 years teaching
Experience or BA Degree in child development, 3-semester units administration, 1 year of teaching experience, or child development Site Supervisor Permit or Child Development Program Director Permit
3 additional ECE semester units are required in the area of administration and supervision of programs in early childhood education
Minimum of 3 years of classroom experience. Each year of experience must be verified as having been performed satisfactorily, at least three hours per day for a minimum of 100 days in a calendar year, as a teacher under the supervision of a person who would qualify as a director under the child care regulations
Strong leadership and administrative skills
Love for children and passion for teaching
No criminal record or child-related offenses
